Cancelling my DC subscriptions:WHAT WILL I DO?!

DC is planning a crossover coming up, and in all likely hood it will be shit. Even if it isn't I can't in good conscious give DC money for doing it, so I'm cancelling all my DC subscriptions at my local comic shop. I'd been thinking about it for a while as none of the story lines from the New 52 were really doing it for me, and the ones that were kept taking artists I liked off the book ad replacing them with hacks. So, what'll I do in the meantime.

Well, I'll tell you.

I'll continue reading Waid's run on Daredevil, as it's just been wonderful, and the tangential crossing over into other books is fine because I just get more daredevil. Though, it's entirely within the realm of possibility that Daredevil will cross over into some big marvel hoopla, maybe when that's the case I'll drop Daredevil as well.

Planetoid by Ken Garing is still running strong in issue two in all it's sci-fi roboty glory. I'm anxiously awaiting the third issue.

Punk Rock Jesus by Sean Murphy had a very promising first issue (of 5) and it provides a nice, somewhat dystopian, change of pace.

Conan the Barbarian currently by Brian Wood is the best it's been in years, with Conan impatiently stabbing people that get in his way, and hooking up with pirate queens. Becky Cloonan Did a good job while she was on it, and James Harren is continuing that trend.

Haven't read it yet, but I'm optimistic about Matt Fraction's new Hawkeye series with David Aja. I'll let you know how that turns out.

I probably don't need to tell you this, but Saga (Brian K. Vaughan/Fiona Staples) is simply awesome. Great setting, great art, solid storytelling. If you haven't been reading this I'd highly recommend that you do.

I'm sure there are other titles I'm forgetting, but that's a great excuse for another post.

Of course there is also a bunch of small press stuff that's been coming out that's pretty good.

This will also let me catch up on the giant stack of trades that's next to my bed, so you can probably expect some reviews of some slightly older books.
